OUR MISSION

Citizens for Responsible Justice is a humanitarian organization dedicated to improving and promoting policies and change in the criminal justice system through collaboration of education, advocacy, service, and support.

OUR VISION

It is our vision to cause appropriate change to take place in the way justice is developed and embraced by all who are subject to the juvenile and adult justice systems in the State of Washington. This vision will be developed and implemented through a comprehensive non-profit corporation, which will, through strategically developed branches, establish itself through the state. These satellites will inform, educate, and serve the citizens within their geographic territory and help develop a humane and restorative way in which to assist victims and offenders, their families, and the community at large.

STRATEGIC DIRECTIONS

Support a responsible and restorative adult and juvenile justice system that considers victims of crime, offenders, their families and the community at large.

Continuously strive to be non-partisan, humanitarian, pro-active, scholarly, professional and collaborative.

Provide accurate and objective information concerning the justice system to all segments of the community.

Provide services and support to victims and offenders, families of victims and offenders, the justice system and the community at large.

Develop, recommend and submit, to whomever appropriate, modifications and changes in the administration of justice that are thoughtfully based upon scholarly research, scientific knowledge and the best thinking available.

Collaborate with the various components of the juvenile and adult justice systems which control, manage and change antisocial behavior.

Support research in the areas of genetics, nutrition, heredity and other areas as deemed necessary.

Promote and assist in implementation of realistic and professionally administered treatment and corrections programs in institutions and in the community.

Promote, develop and support community based programs where incarceration is not necessary to assure public safety.

Assist and support appropriately financed rehabilitation and treatment programs for all victims, offenders and the community at large.
